Gotta love when a plan does not go as planned... right? So, we were supposed to ALL come up here on Sunday afternoon. We had the 14 trucks going to Hell's Revenge (2 groups of 7), and then we had 2 other groups going to other trails. We were all to meet back up at the chargers at 2pm to head up here. Well, at 2pm, we were still at Hell's Gate. We got back at 4pm and it was decided to just cancel the Dunes. I was personally really looking forward to doing this.
Well, as luck would have it, I was topping off (relatively speaking) at the chargers before leaving Moab when Kyle and Bob (who I rode with on Sunday) stopped by and mentioned they were coming up here. Then Sergio got to the chargers, so we tried to convince him (🤞) to come up as well. He mentioned Stephen was planning on doing it in the afternoon, but he would talk to Stephen. So, I went ahead and followed Kyle up. All in, we did not have 20 or 30 trucks, we only had 6. But it ws still a blast until someone (me) had to ruin it by getting stuck🤣😂. Like I said, I am a beginner when it comes to this stuff.

There was a little bit of a mix-up in communication on this trail. Probably more so on my own behalf and not doing research. The group that I went with had posted a YouTube video of the Hell's Revenge trail. As I am somewhat new to off-roading generally speaking, I did not realize that there was a "main trail" and then several "challenges" that you could either opt in or out of as you so desired. So, in watching this video, and having this going through my head, that I would need to go through all of these on this trail, I decided that I was not experienced enough (yet) to attempt this trail. However, I still wanted to see it, so I rode with someone else in the group.
Out of 14 drivers, on Hell's Revenge, six of them decided to try the Hell's Gate challenge. Stephen who had already done it did not go. One of them went through twice! Sergio, who was talking big game about doing this challenge (without armor on his truck by the way) was about to chicken out (not that I would ever hold that against anyone, I chickened out on the whole trail because of this challenge). Through peer pressure (I suggest you never give in to peer pressure, your gut feelings are there for a reason) he finally decided at the last minute to do it before we left. And let's just say, the videos are astounding! Check out my YouTube for my full video of his trek up Hell's Gate. I am over-analytical, and what Sergio did is the exact reason I did not want to bring my truck! Alas, the main trail in and of itself minus one small corner near the end, was not too bad outside of the rain on the Slickrock... I kind of wish I had taken my truck on the trail. If we come out here again, I might have to do it. Hell's Gate will still be off the table however.
I know it is hard to ignore the blurry image, the point of this picture is that I was trying to hold my phone as level as possible. Look where tthe land meets the sky, and then look at the angle of the truck.
Another weird picture where I was trying to capture the angle of the truck versus a level (ish) photo.

Hot Tub wasn't full of water.... yet.
I think (?) this was the Tip Over challenge, not entirely sure though. I did not of course know what we were doing before I got back into the truck... LOL! I wish that I could have gotten a picture of the inclinometer, but I wasn't going to break Kyle's concentration to have him switch screen views, just so I could get a picture of the angle, that would be very screwed up!
Check out that inclinometer!
You can't take a bunch of Teslas anywhere and NOT do a light show right??? Well, it just-so happened to align with the Worldwide Fantasy Light Show put on by X Light Shows in England who designed our light show for the Denver Tesla Owner's Club at Pike's Peak dubbed the World's Highest Tesla Light Show. Out of the 35 Cybertucks that we had for the Moab weekend event... TWENTY-FIVE came out to Courthouse Rock for this light show!!! Typically when we do these, we run the show 2-3 times, and we send Stephen our videos for the club reel, and we send Simon our videos for the X Light Show reel. And these are really thought out, and all lights are used, the front as well as the inside lights, and of course the rear lights as well. So typically I try to capture video from the rear first and the second and third take I will capture from the front. WELL.... we only did one take on this, so the only video I have for the Fantasy is from the back😭. However we did do a second show to a different much shorter song that I was able to capture from the front. Either way, this was awesome to be a part of.
Hurrah Pass was marked as an Easy Trail with Chicken Corners as Moderate. Honestly, I am not sure where one stopped and the next picked up, but they both seemed pretty easy to me. The only possibly "moderate" area in my opinion was at the very end when we got to the overlook of the Colorado River there was a somewhat narrow passage with a slight sideways incline. I had all of a 16° roll on screen to get through. And as it was a there and back trail we had to go through that small passage twice, not a horrible ordeal for our wide trucks, and I would imagine really not a very big deal for most of the people out there on bikes or side by sides.
This covered a few areas actually. We started at Onion Creek with the 27 creek crossings. Of course as we were coming out of spring the creeks are starting to dry up so they were not very deep. As I have never been here before, I could not tell you how deep they get, but I would imagine at least a bit deeper than what we saw which was about 6-8 inches on average. This took us through and near Top of the World, but not up to it.
I probably should have done the Group A - Easy/Mod trail for Friday, I believe they might have gone to Top of the World based on one of the pictures, but maybe next year.
As we came out near the La Sal range, we headed down to Fisher Valley Overlook for a small rest before heading back into town for dinner.
Yeah, I know... my mirror should have probably been wiped before taking a picture of other trucks. Oh well, too late now.
